Glorifying God by transforming the lives of children, adolescents, and their families.
Background
Canaan Land Ministries was founded in 1978 and is supported through the Apostolic Christian Church Foundation. Canaan Land Ministries works with the abused and abandoned children of Southern Brazil. CLM currently runs two orphanages, one in Entre Rios, and the other in Turvo in addition to a support program to assist young adults as they transition into adulthood (CLM Plus). The children’s homes have total a capacity for about 60 children, depending on the staff and on the needs of the children.
Children are placed at CLM through the government, whose goal is to either return them to a repaired home or place them in a family (through foster care, adoption or with relatives) within six months to two years. This is also CLM’s desire; however, it is not always possible. The children who stay at CLM long term are transitioned into independence through the CLM Plus program. CLM Plus helps these teens and young adults to find jobs and provides financial support as they pursue higher education.
